DescriptionThe Blindhem Foot is ideal for sewing invisible hems and for attaching lace. The hem is sewn, overlocked and trimmed all in one easy step. How to Use: Blind Hem: Set your overlocker to the desired stitch. Attach the Blindhem Foot. Fold and press the hem in place. Then fold the hem back on itself towards the right side of the fabric, leaving 6mm (¼”) of the edge exposed. (Refer to illustration.) Place the hem under the foot with the fold sitting against the guide on the foot. Loosen the guide screw to adjust the guide so the needle just catches the thread on the fold. Guide the fabric as you sew, ensuring the fold of the fabric stays snug against the guide. Open the fabric out and lightly press on the wrong side. Always test on a scrap piece of fabric before sewing your actual project. Lace: Set your overlocker to the desired stitch. Attach the Blindhem Foot. Place the wrong side of the lace onto the right side of the fabric. Position the fabric under the foot, with the fabric extending to the right of the guide and the header of the lace resting against the left side of the guide. Loosen the guide screw to adjust the guide so the needle just catches the header of the lace. Guide the fabric as you sew, ensuring the lace header stays snug against the guide. Once finished, open the lace flat, fold the seam allowance to the back of the fabric and press. If using insertion lace, repeat the process on the other side of the lace.
